Lakelands Hospice is holding an awareness day on Monday to give Corby people a behind-the-scenes look at a community venture they can be proud of.
Visitors are welcome at the hospice in Butland Road from 11am until 2pm, and from 4pm to 7pm, to meet its nursing team, fundraisers and volunteers. People who go along will be given tours of the complex and can find out more about its hospice at home service and the support it gives to heart failure patients.
Lakelands community fundraiser Paul Marlow said: “Everyone knows the name Lakelands but not everyone knows exactly what we offer. There was a lot of negative publicity recently about Corby and we want to showcase something really positive. Each year local people help raise £475,000 to keep the hospice going and that really is something to be proud of. Everyone is welcome on Monday.”
