Authorities have given a Traveller camp in a park in Kettering a day to vacate the site.
Eight caravans have set up camp in Northampton Road in the town – having arrived in Meadow Road at the weekend.
A piece of fencing has been broken at the Northampton Road/Lave Avenue site, and the police and the county council’s traveller unit have been asked to investigate.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said officers had visited the site and an order had been issued demanding the Travellers move away from the park by 10am on Wednesday morning (September 24).
And a Northamptonshire County Council spokesman confirmed: “The travellers now located in Northampton Road, Kettering, comprise a group of eight caravans.
“They have been served a section 61 notice by the Countywide Traveller Unit’s police liaison and enforcement officer and they now have until 10am on Wednesday to move from the site.”
