ILLEGAL immigrants were found stowed-away in a lorry heading for Raunds.
Twenty-four would-be illegal immigrants have been prevented from entering the country on Wednesday, May 23, after Border Force officers found them hiding inside two lorries at Calais port waiting to cross to the UK.
The first group of 13 men were found when officers used a sniffer dog to search a Polish registered lorry heading for Warth Park Way in Raunds.
Six were from Iran, three from Syria, two from Afghanistan, one from Iraq and one was from Turkey.
Later that day, a group of 11 men were discovered by officers in a German-registered vehicle bound for Milton Keynes. The group consisted of seven from Afghanistan, two from Iraq and one Syrian
All the stowaways were handed over to the French border police and the vehicles were allowed to continue onto their destinations.
