A talent show is being organised to raise funds for an appeal to send a little girl to America for vital surgery.

The event will boost Lexie’s Leggy Appeal, which is aiming to raise £40,000 to help Lexie Fordyce, four, who has cerebal palsy and is unable to walk.

A Lexie’s X-Factor event is being held at the Grampian Club, Corby, on Friday, October 5, and talented singers are invited to take part.

The event is being organised by Dennis Binks, a supporter of the appeal launched just over a year ago by Lexie’s mum Lisa, of Grendon Avenue, Corby.

People interested in taking part are asked to register by going along to the St John’s Ambulance Hall, South Road, Corby, on September 13, at 7.30pm. The registration fee is £20 and people can also collect sponsorship forms.

Mr Binks said: “We have been supporting Lexie’s appeal since the beginning, as it’s a very worthwhile cause.

“We thought the talent show would be fun and it will give the appeal a boost. We will be announcing the judges later.”

Mr Binks is also holding a night of clairvoyance at the Masonic Hall, Rockingham Road, Corby, on Tuesday, August 28, starting at 7pm, to raise funds for a youngster with leukemia.

Tickets are £12 if booked by calling 079142 70842 or £10 on the night.
