Hundreds of shoppers queued up this morning (Thursday) to get their first look at Kettering’s newest Aldi store.
The new store in Stanier Retail Park officially opened at 8am with shoppers eagerly waiting for their chance to win a prize in the golden ticket giveaway.
The store, the second in the town, has created 70 jobs for the local community and will feature about 1,500 product lines.
Alan Clarkson was first in the queue having waited for the store to open since 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday).
He said: “I really like the range and the price of the food Aldi sells.
“The new store looks really nice and it’s good for the town that they have expanded.”
Shopper Maria Vents usually travels to the Aldi store in Corby but says this will be her new shop of choice.
She said: “Aldi offers the best price and there is always fresh vegetables.
“The meat always looks delicious and the new store is beautiful.”
Aldi Store Manager, Marvin Aldred, said: “My team and I very much enjoyed welcoming our new customers to the store; the turnout on the day was fantastic, with 100 people walking away with a prize.
“We hope the shoppers enjoyed our celebrations and I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
