The two oldest residents at a Wellingborough care home helped bring the festive spirit to the facility when they switched on the Christmas lights today (Saturday, December 14).

Connie Spademan and Irene Shaw, both 99-years-old, had help from Millie, 5, and Molly Speller, 6, to switch on the lights at Bilton Court, in Queensway, Wellingborough.

Millie and Molly are the daughters of Sarah Speller, one of the home’s activity co-ordinators.

Irene has lived at Bilton Court for about six years, while Connie moved there in the summer.

Mrs Spademan said: “These lights are beautiful for Christmas 2013.”
