Help is at hand for homeless in town

ROUGH sleepers in Corby are being provided with free sleeping bags thanks to a donation from Corby Lions.

The bags have been donated to county charity Accommodation Concern, which provides support, advice and resources to homeless people in Northamptonshire, as well as to people who may be in danger of losing their homes.

The charity relies on support from individuals and companies across the county to fund many of its projects.

Rachel Wilson, chief executive of Accommodation Concern, said: “We use donations to fund all kinds of projects and equipment. Every penny stays right here in Northamptonshire and local generosity enables us to plan for the future.

“A big thank you to Corby Lions, who have supported us for the second year running. Something as simple as a sleeping bag can make a huge difference to a person living on the street and we have been able to buy six warm bags with the donation, which our team will give out to people most in need on Corby streets.”
