A series of events are being held by Northamptonshire Parent Partnership Service for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs.
The aim is to improve access to information and support for their families.
Gwyn Botterill from the service said: “The Government has set out reforms for special educational needs and disability to come into force through legislation from 2014.
“One of the requirements will be on Northamptonshire County Council to set out a local offer that can inform parents and carers about the support and services available to children and young people with special educational needs and a disability.
“Our experience shows that involving parents and carers right at the beginning of our planning will mean that we can develop a local offer that will support them in accessing the right help for their children as early as possible.”
A forum is being held at Pen Green Children’s Centre, Corby, on Tuesday, March 12, from 9.45am until 11.45am and at Wellingborough Museum on Tuesday, March 26, from 9.45am until 11.45am. To book a place call 07974 141266.
