Kettering Library has reopened after heavy weekend rain forced it to close on Monday after part of the roof fell in.
A notice posted on the entrances to the library in Sheep Street told users structural damage meant it would be closed until further notice.
However, a spokesman for Northamptonshire County Council said the library had reopened at 12pm today (Tuesday).
In a statement, the spokesman added: “Following the heavy rain over the weekend, water has leaked through the roof of Kettering library and part of the ceiling has come down.
“We have been advised to stay closed while the ceiling and roof are being fully checked out and will re-open as soon as possible.
“In the meantime, people are welcome to visit any of the other libraries instead or they can search the catalogue and renew or reserve books online.”
The spokesman added that no damage had been caused to books or other library items.
The county council has told people unable to get to the library they can renew books by calling 0300 126 1000, or visiting www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/libraries.
Major refurbishment work at the library was completed in the spring.
