People who experience significant visual impairment are being invited to a special centre that can offer advice and support.

Trained staff at Northamptonshire Association for the Blind’s Sight Centre in Wadcroft, Kettering, can help with issues relating to sight loss.

The centre also has a range of specialist aids and equipment that people can try or buy.

Northamptonshire Association for the Blind is a long-standing charity and estimates there are more than 20,000 individuals living in the county with some form of visual impairment – a figure set to rise as the population ages.

Since the Sight Centre opened in Kettering in 2009 it has welcomed hundreds of visitors through its doors.

It is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 1pm and also runs regular activity groups.

To get in touch with the Kettering Sight Centre directly call 01536 522773.
