Families looking to start the new year in a positive and healthy way are invited to get involved with the Corby Mend project – the perfect way to get fit, keep active and have fun.
Mend (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do It!) is a free 10-week exercise programme aimed at young people between the ages of 7-13 and their parents to learn how to get rid of unwanted weight.
Mend is about fun ways of taking steps to a healthier lifestyle. With activities such as games, understanding food labels and swimming sessions, there is definitely something for everyone.
As well as all the fun activities, parents are also given the chance to learn why it’s important for their children to maintain a healthy lifestyle through a series of workshops and discussion groups.
Corby Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “Mend has proven to be a great success over the years with youngsters really responding well to the programme and thoroughly enjoying the sessions whilst making new friends along the way. It is the perfect way for young people to become healthy and will certainly lead to a happier and healthier future.
“I hope young people and their families take this fantastic opportunity while they can and book their place now before it is too late.”
