A man has died after a head on car crash on the A6 in Northamptonshire.

Kamrul Hassan, 28, of Wellingborough, died on the A6 Desborough Bypass after his Ford Focus apparently crossed onto the opposite carriageway and into the path of a VW Bora coming the other way at about 10.15pm yesterday.

The other driver, a 45-year-old woman, was air lifted to Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry, with serious injuries.

Mr Hassan’s blue Ford Focus was traveling south between Rothwell and Desborough.

The VW was traveling north.

Police are keen to speak with the driver of a white coloured car, possibly of Japanese make, which is believed to have been in the area at the time of the accident and may be an important witness.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
