A midwife from Kettering General Hospital is facing a disciplinary panel hearing before the Nursing and Midwifery Council in London.

Eleanor Braithwaite faces a number of allegations, dating from January and February 2010, including altering the drug records of a patient and failing to identify abnormal cardiotocography readings.

She was working as a band seven midwife at the hospital during that period.

The hearing is taking place at the Old Bailey, in London, between today (Tuesday, February 26) and Tuesday, March 5.

She is facing a total of five allegations, three of failing to provide an appropriate level of care to separate patients, one of arranging the inappropriate disposal of a morphine sulphate pump and another of altering medical records.
