Kettering’s Balance Health Club is celebrating after being named 2016 winners of the Northants Telegraph’s Gym of the Year competition.

The club in Thurston Drive fought off competition from nearly 40 other gyms in the north of the county to claim first prize.

General manager Indy Mann said: “We are absolutely delighted to win Northamptonshire Telegraph Gym of the Year.

“This is a wonderful tribute to all of our staff who work very hard every day to provide a great experience for all of our members.

“This award is particularly important to us because it’s been voted for by our members – we like to say thank you to all of them, we are honoured and very pleased to receive it.”

Business development manager Cris Puha said: “We are absolutely delighted to win first prize.

“We did not expect to win but we have worked so hard to improve our equipment.

“The club has more than 2,000 members and we do our best to engage with all of them.”

Balance Health Club possesses a gym, swimming pool, spa facilities and a number of gym classes.

Visitors can also play badminton, squash, table tennis, volleyball and beach volleyball on two of the club’s outdoor beach courts.

The club also has a bar and cafe with lake views.

Second place in the competition went to Fit 4 Her ladies gym which is based in Market Street, Wellingborough.

Ladies Health and Fitness, in Montagu Street, Kettering, claimed third place.
