Plans to create a ‘super-practice’ by merging four large GP surgeries have been announced.

Rothwell and Desborough Healthcare Group, Headlands Surgery in Kettering, Albany House Medical Centre in Wellingborough and Lakeside Surgeries in Corby plan to merge, creating a super-practice that will serve the healthcare needs of almost 100,000 patients in the Kettering, Wellingborough and Corby area.

Bosses say the merger will create a practice that will be better able to meet the growing needs of patients and relieve much of the increased pressures faced by hospitals.

Rothwell and Desborough Healthcare Group senior partner Dr Tim Myhill, said: “This merger will allow us to focus more on the particular healthcare needs of our patients and will enable us to offer them a more accessible, more specific service.”

No existing clinics or premises will be closed.
