A cancer charity is hosting a free seminar for employers to remind them of their responsibilities as an employer of someone affected by cancer.

Macmillan Cancer Support and Shoosmiths LLP are hosting a free Cancer in the Workplace Business Breakfast Seminar to any employers who would like their support.

Every day nine people in Northamptonshire learn that they have cancer, and four people die from the illness. This will see Northamptonshire’s population of people living with cancer more than double from 22,379 in 2010 to 49,100 in 2030. There are also more than six million people in the UK looking after a relative or friend as a carer.

Kate Benefer, an associate from Shoosmiths LLP, will talk about employers’ legal responsibilities and Macmillan Cancer Support will give advice about the free resources available to employers, employees and carers.

To book your place email Susan Napoleon at snapoleon@macmillan.org.uk stating your full name and job title.

There are only 50 free spaces available for this event which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Macmillan will inform you before Friday, March 7, if you have successfully secured a free seat at this seminar.

The seminar will be held at Barclaycard, 1234 Pavilion Drive, Northampton, NN4 7SG, on Thursday, March 13, from 8am – 10am.
