Rotary clubs across the north of the county have taken part in a national attempt to get people to check their blood pressure.
Three Kettering Rotary clubs held a drop-in session today (Saturday, April 20) at the Newlands Centre, with their counterparts in Wellingborough holding a similar event in the Swansgate Centre. In Rushden, a stall was situated on the High Street.
Having a high blood pressure can significantly increase the risk of having a stroke or a heart attack, Rotary organisers have warned.
“There are an awful lot of people who feel perfectly well who have high blood pressure,” said Eric Hadaway, from the Kettering Huxloe Rotary Club.
“It’s something that can hit anybody, so we are just asking passers-by if they would like to have their blood pressure taken.”
