About £300 has been raised for Wren Spinney School in Kettering after a Tesco employee had his head shaved.

Richard Smith, who works at the shop in Windmill Avenue in the town, raised the money after agreeing to get rid of his hair and beard.

The fundraising shave took place on Tuesday last week at the store.

More than £325 has been raised so far, with more money still to be collected. Richard was persuaded to go through with the shave by two of his colleagues, who are members of the Friends of Wren Spinney fundraising group, which has paid tributes to his efforts.

Meanwhile, the group is planning to set up a new weight loss programme from which all funds raised will go to the school.

Further details will be released shortly.
