A Disability Gymnastics Roadshow will be taking place in the county next month to encourage more people with disabilities to have a go at the sport.
Any budding gymnasts will get to watch displays and have a chance to join in with trampolining, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and cheerleading.
Northamptonshire Sport and British Gymnastics are running the day, which will also be an opportunity for mainstream club coaches to find out more about including the disability sport in their activities.
Greg Yarnall from Northamptonshire Sport said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people with disabilities to try gymnastics.
“By raising the profile of disability gymnastics, we hope that more clubs will be confident to promote their facilities to all ages and abilities.”
The day runs from midday until 4pm on Saturday, October 6, at Lings Forum Leisure Centre in Northampton and there is no need to book – just turn up.
For more information about the event contact Greg Yarnall on 01604 367133 or email email@example.com.
If anyone with Downs Syndrome would like to take part, contact Greg Yarnall in advance to check which activities are appropriate for you.
Northamptonshire Sport is a partnership of local and national organisations working together to provide opportunities for people to participate in sport, physical activity and recreation in the county.
