Residents in Corby are invited to take part in Made In Corby’s Big Day In events this weekend as part of the national Fun Palaces campaign.

Free events are being held from midday to 4pm on Saturday t Danesholme Community Centre, from 10am until 3pm on Sunday at Oakley Vale Community Centre, and from midday to 4pm also on Sunday at Stephenson Way Community Centre.

Made In Corby is a three-year £1m project aimed at getting more people in the borough involved in the arts.

It was launched in August with a sell-out concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and jazz singer Barb Jungr at Steel Park.

Now residents and performers are invited to take part in any of the one-hour Big Day In creative workshops, or stay for all of them.

A host of arts-based activities will be running at each centre for people who want to have a go.

Fun Palace events are taking place all over the country aimed at creating great communities.

They will be taking place in theatres, community centres, gardens, tents, woodlands, shops and car parks, schools and libraries.

For more information on times, artists and activities people are asked to visit the Made in Corby Facebook page or follow them on Twitter.
