Bannatyne’s Health Club in Wellingborough has teamed up with member Jim McCrone to raise money in honour of his late grandson.

Jim and his friends from Wellingborough are doing the gruelling Three Peaks challenge in memory of his grandson Max, who was born three months premature with surviving twin brother Kai, now two. Despite excellent care, Max died one week later.

The Wallis Close Health Club has already raised £250 with a three-day charity event which included aqua polo and a spin-a-thon. The money will sponsor the Wellingborough mountain men to tackle the UK’s three highest mountains to raise money for Action Medical Research. The group will begin its challenge on July 5. Visit ww.action.org.uk/sponsor/mountainmen to sponsor them.
