Group members go Crazy for cancer charity

MEMBERS of a Weight Watchers class in Rushden have raised more than £500 for the Crazy Hats Breast Cancer Appeal.

Members of the group, which meets at 9.30am on Wednesdays at the Salvation Army, made food-themed crazy hats at a recent meeting.

The class then went on to win Weight Watchers meeting of the month out of all the classes nationwide.

The prize for winning meeting of the month was another £300 for the charity.

Group leader Sarah Barnes said: “The meeting won meeting of the month which meant another £300 for Crazy Hats, we had already raised £200 so they have got more than £500 coming.

“The reason we did it is because we didn’t manage to do the Crazy Hats walk this year so we thought we would still look to raise money.

“We decided to have a Crazy Hats meeting.”
