The Force was with these youngsters when they took part in a Star Wars competition aimed at promoting reading.

Lexie Wasilewski, Noah Swan-Lee and Setareh Robinson from Gretton Primary School won prizes in the Star Wars themed drawing competition launched by PCs Mark Walker and Brad Wilson from Northants Police.

They teamed up with Tesco after it donated a life-size Star Wars cut-out to the library to add interest and promote reading.

Mick Brown, community champion from Tesco Extra, judged the entries and presented the prizes at a recent school assembly with the assistance of his colleague Craig, who got into the spirit of the day and dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi. PC Walker said: “Tesco have kindly donated large cardboard point of sale materials.

“We got four life-size Star Wars figures and so we put them into libraries in different schools to inspire reading.”
