Green plan aims for cleaner environment

Corby Council has agreed a five-year environmental plan to help make the borough a cleaner and healthier place to live.

The key areas of focus include reducing carbon emissions by 50 per cent before 2020 and encouraging the take-up of low carbon transportation. Corby Council’s lead member for environment, Cllr Mark Pengelly, said: “Corby Council is committed to a greener and healthier borough and to further our commitment we have become a signatory of the Climate Local Initiative.”
