RESIDENTS and community groups are invited to bid for grants of up to £250 to help organise parties and events to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Corby Council has £5,000 to give in grants of up to £250.
The funding is also available for events to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics and Paralymic Games.
Cllr John McGhee, the borough council’s lead member for community, said: “We would like residents to devise celebrations which will involve and inspire their whole community group, street or estate and create a lasting and positive legacy in the community.
“Grants will be awarded up to a maximum of £250 and additional funding or support in kind will be expected.”
The money can be used to organise street parties, sporting events, or to produce publicity material for celebrations.
Any resident or representative of a community group who would like more information on funding is asked to visit www.corby.gov.uk.
