Good turnout at Caldecott Pancake Race

The village of Caldecott turned out in force yesterday (Tuesday) for their annual Pancake Race.

The races, as usual, were started by Dennis Wright who is still running the event despite turning 95 this year.

Robert Sharman won the men’s race, with Hazel Asare winning the children’s race.

Jenny Betts, president of the Caldecott WI, won the women’s race.

Wellingborough School also held its traditional pancake race, which saw pupils from the eight different school houses competing for victory in a relay-style race around the school grounds.

Pupils were very energetic, despite the wet weather.
