The high standard of schools in Corby is attracting buyers to the area, according to developers Barratt Homes.
Its Hatton Meadows and Lyveden Fields developments on the Oakley Vale estate, Corby, are proving a popular choice with families.
Nearby Brooke Weston Academy, in Corby, recently featured in The Sunday Times Top 200 state secondary schools list which ranked schools based on 2012 examination results.
Andrew Swindell, managing director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “We appreciate that it’s often the school that dictates where families choose to buy, rather than a house, and this led to the introduction of the school finder service on our website which allows parents to search for good schools in the areas surrounding our developments.”
Barratt works in partnership with the Good Schools Guide to provide a source of information which allows parents to research developments and the schools in the area at the same time.
Visitors to www.barratthomes.co.uk simply enter a location, postcode, name of the school or the name of the development in which they are interested.
They then have the option of asking for more information on nearby schools and the website’s search engine generates a list of those nearest to the development, with details about the school provided by the Good Schools Guide.
Parents can filter the search by age-range or type and access details such as pupil numbers, percentages passing English, maths and science subjects and Key Stage 2 statistics.
Mr Swindell said: “This tool is proving an invaluable resource for parents researching where to buy, but with such a great range of quality new homes on offer as well as the excellent schools in the surrounding area, families have no reason not to want to buy a new home from our Hatton Meadows and Lyveden Fields developments.”
