Police are appealing for witnesses after a man assaulted a seven-year-old girl in Thrapston on Friday (August 17).

The girl was on her scooter travelling from Windsor Drive, across a park towards Sherbourne Way, when she heard a man shouting at her.

A police spokesman said: “The man shouted at her to shut up and then ran towards her and hit her on the arm.

“In response to this the girl hit him with her scooter before making off, towards Sherbourne Way.”

The incident took place between 5pm and 5.25pm.

The offender was a white man, aged between 35 and 55, with brown hair and wore white clothing.

The girl was not injured during the incident.
