A Kettering businessman is hoping to get businesses in the town talking over social networking site Twitter this Tuesday.

Dave Tyrer, of Dave Tyrer Photography, has created the hashtag #ketteringhour.

He said: “I’ve created a #ketteringhour due to start on Tuesday, July 9, between 8 and 9pm.

“This is an opportunity for local businesses in Kettering to connect and possibly generate new business.

“I’ve been trying to get local businesses talking for a while without much success, but I’ve seen similar ‘hours’ work elsewhere with success.”

Similar ‘hours’ on the popular social networking site have proved a hit – with recent creations including #northantshour and #harboroughhour, for Market Harborough.

The idea is for businesses to tweet messages using the #ketteringhour hashtag to tell others about their services and even any special offers they have.

A Facebook page called the Kettering Business Network has also been set up, which can be found at www.facebook.com/KetteringBusinessNetwork.
