Foodies in our region are being asked to find their favourite local restaurant for a prestigious award.
The Good Food Guide is on the hunt for its esteemed Readers’ Restaurant of the Year award, and is encouraging anyone who loves to eat out to nominating their favourite restaurants, pubs and cafés from Monday, February 4.
The award is designed to champion local eateries and recognise great food and service in independent outlets across the UK, with establishments offering regional or local produce preferred.
Ten regional winners will be announced from the public nominations before the Good Food Guide judges crown their overall Readers’ Restaurant of the Year 2014.
Diners in the Midlands can nominate their favourite restaurants online at www.thegoodfoodguide.co.uk/awards or by submitting a postcard, available in participating restaurants during the nomination period, which runs until April 14.
Everyone who submits a nomination will also be entered into a free prize draw for a delicious meal for two at the winning restaurant in their area.
Last year’s awards saw more than 44,000 people nominate their favourite restaurants.
Elizabeth Carter, consultant editor the Good Food Guide, said: “The dining-out public are at the heart of the Readers’ Restaurant of the Year awards and we are looking forward to hearing from everyone in the Midlands about where they love to eat out.”
The ten regional winners will be announced at the end of May and the overall winner of The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year award will be announced in late June.
