Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Great Daffodil Appeal is taking place across Kettering, Wellingborough and surrounding areas from March 1.
The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest fundraiser, and encourages everyone to support those with a terminal illness by giving a donation and wearing a daffodil pin throughout March.
All funds raised will help Marie Curie nurses to provide more free care to county people with a terminal illness in their own home.
Community fundraiser Sally Veness said: “We need everyone in Kettering and Wellingborough to donate and wear one of our daffodil pins during March.
“Every penny you give is absolutely vital in helping us support people with terminal illnesses in your area, and provide more of the free hands-on care and emotional support we’re renowned for.”
Daffodil pins can be picked up from local stores, Marie Curie volunteer collectors and Marie Curie shops throughout March.
There are also a number of Great Daffodil Appeal fundraising events to get involved in locally, including help needed for collections at:
Morrisons, Wellingborough - Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9
Bosworth Nursery and Garden Centre, Burton Latimer – Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10
Morrisons, Kettering – Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16
Kettering town centre – Saturday, March 16
‘Wear something yellow to work day’ also launches on Friday, March 1.
Workplaces across Kettering and Wellingborough can add a splash of colour to the day and raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care at the same time.
