An under 8s football team is celebrating after having a new kit donated to them.
Perry Akhtar, franchisee of the Raunds McDonald’s fast food takeaway, donated a new kit and training equipment to Thrapston Town Juniors’ under 8s team.
The team were presented with their new shirts last month.
He said: “Thrapston Juniors offers the local community a fantastic opportunity to get involved with grassroots football for children of all ages and I’m honoured to be able to support the club.
“The parents are also very impressed with how smart their children now look out on the pitch.”
Mr Akhtar has been involed in helping out the club beforehand, after donating a brand new kit to the team last year and treating them to a trip to Wembley Stadium to take part in a parade before last year’s Charity Shield match between Manchester United and Manchester City last August.
Nick Abraham, head of Thrapston Town under 8s, said: “The club have enjoyed a remarkable season having won an incredible 19 games out of 23 and scoring 91 goals in the process and hopefully with Perry’s charitable contribution we can push on an enjoy and even better year next season.”
