Pupils at Oundle School have secured another outstanding set of results at GCSE level.
86.3 per cent of grades were awarded at A* or A, which is a results day record.
The proportion of A* grades awarded was 53.2 per cent, which is the fourth year running that more than half of all grades have been awarded at A*.
The girls averaged more than 60 per cent of A* grades.
23 pupils achieved 10 A* grades and 47 pupils (22 per cent of the cohort) achieved at least nine A* grades.
Performance was strong across all subjects with RS (79 per cent), Mandarin (80 per cent), maths (63% per cent), Greek (62 per cent) and all three sciences topping 60 per cent of A* grades.
The school is delighted that its pupils have performed so well in all public examinations.
Director of studies Benjamin Evans said: “These results represent exceptional performance across the whole curriculum and our pupils, who have worked extremely hard to meet and in some cases exceed our predictions, fully deserve these record-breaking results.
“Coupled with the excellent performance of Oundle’s sixth form candidates last week, these results confirm Oundle’s position as an academic leader within the independent educational sector.”
