This year’s GCSE results at Wellingborough School have given staff and pupils a lot to celebrate with the largest number of clean sweeps at A* for more than five years, with four pupils achieving 10 A* and 14 pupils gaining five or more A*.
More than half the year gained at least one A*.
Success also came for pupils who, supported by their teachers, have put in immense hard work and consequently realised their potential so ensuring that they are well prepared to embark with confidence on A-level courses.
This is a cohort whose excellence is not confined to GCSEs; one pupil gained two A* and two A grades in A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Spanish and Physics, alongside their seven A* at GCSE and another gained an A at AS in addition to their nine GCSEs.
There was also success for a Year 8 pupil who gained an A* in Spanish GCSE, sat this summer.
Headmaster Garry Bowe said: “We are very proud of all our pupils and look forward to supporting them in the next phase of their education.”
