Students at Weavers School in Wellingborough have achieved record GCSE results with an 11 per cent increase in the number of students achieving five A* to C grades, including English and Maths, pushing them up to 53 per cent.

Deputy headteacher Abigail Boddy said: “The results this year are the best ever in the school’s history and are a tribute to the hard work of our students and staff.

“Among the many outstanding results are Cain Clarke, James Jeffreys, Emma Pratt, and Hannah Prentice who amassed 41 A* and A grades between them.

“The school will open in September with its largest ever sixth form, and we look forward to building on our students’ excellent GCSE results at A-Level.”
