In total, 85 per cent of students achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C; last year the equivalent figure was 68 per cent.

Dawn Cotter, principal of Kettering Buccleuch Academy, said: “We are very pleased with this year’s results which consolidate the progress made over the last few years. I congratulate all our students on their achievements and look forward to welcoming many of them to our sixth form.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for Kettering Buccleuch Academy as we are only weeks away from moving into our brand new building which will see all three phases of the academy brought together on one site. The whole academy community can’t wait to move into the new building and today’s strong results mean that we will start life in our new home with a renewed energy and vigour.”
