GCSE and A-level rankings for 2012 are revealed

Department for Education league tables have been produced ranking secondary schools in the county for their GCSE and A-level results.

Among the top performers for GCSE results in the county were Oundle School, which ranked top with 99 per cent of students getting five A* to C-grades at GCSE or equivalent including English and maths. Others in the top 10 in the county were Wellingborough School (3rd) Brooke Weston Academy (4th) and Bishop Stopford School (6th).

Nationally the top school for GCSE results was Colyton Grammar School in Devon where 100 per cent of pupils achieved A* to C grades.

Among the county’s best results for A-levels, according to points score per candidate, were Oundle School (2nd), The Ferrers Specialist Arts College (4th), Huxlow Science College (6th) and Brook Weston Academy (10th)

The county ranks in the bottom third in the country for both GCSE and A-level results. The average percentage of candidates getting at least five A* to C-grades at GCSE including English and maths in the county is 56.2 per cent with the average points scored per pupil being 463 – placing the county 110th out of 152.

And the county ranked 103rd based on the average A-level points scored per student, which was 681.

d. The rank within its local authority the school achieved according to its A-Level points score per candidate.
