Gang jailed for 37 years after robbery

A GANG of four men from Northamptonshire have been jailed for a total of 37 years for kidnapping a cash and carry manager and robbing the premises where he worked.

They were sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court after carrying out the robbery in Grantham, in November 2010.

The 54-year-old victim was threatened with a knife and forced to open the premises. Cash and cigarettes were stolen during the raid.

Andra Alfred Hoyland, 28, of Northampton Road, Broughton, admitted kidnap and robbery and was sentenced to seven years and six months in jail. Nathan Pilsbury, 23, of North Oval, Kingsheath, was found guilty of kidnap and robbery after a trial and was sentenced to 13 years and six months.

Richard Loveridge, 20, of Ecton Lane Park, Great Billing, pleaded guilty to kidnap and robbery and was sentenced to six years.

And Martin McBrien, 26, of Crow Lane, Little Billing, pleaded guilty to kidnap and robbery and was sentenced to 10 years.
