A widow who lost her husband to cancer aged just 40 held an aerobathon in his name for charity.

Chelsea Cawdell raised £1,300 at the two-hour event at the Nene Centre in Thrapston.

The 41-year-old mum arranged the fundraiser on March 3 following the death of her husband Bob earlier this year.

Bob died following a six-month battle with kidney cancer.

His funeral at St James’ Church was attended by more than 150 people, including his two sons Arron, 10, and Tyler, six.

More than a dozen women joined in the aerobathon wearing pink, including many in pink tutus, to mark the charity event.

All the money raised will go to Cransley Hospice.

Chelsea said: “I was amazed with the support, not just on the day, but with all the donations made before it.

“It made me feel so proud.”

As well as the fundraiser both Chelsea and Bob’s friends are bidding to have a memorial bench installed in Town Walk, Thrapston.

Collection boxes for the project are in The Kings Arms, The Fox and The Mason Arms.
