People turned out for a fun day which raised cash to help improve life for a little boy who cannot talk or walk.

Ben Talbot, of Finedon, has global development delay and is unable to walk or speak due to his undiagnosed condition.

Finedon Buffs is raising cash for Ben’s appeal all this year and has already raised more than £4,000. The group held its annual family fun day to raise more cash at Finedon Dolben Cricket Club today (Sunday, August 19).

Mick Webb from Finedon Buffs said: “A few weeks ago we had a wheelchair push around the village green in Finedon, we did very well at that. We are just keeping it going all year. We want to raise as much as we can.”

Finedon Buffs secretary Andrew Hawkes said: “This is the fourth year we’ve held our family fun day - it started small and expands every year.”

Attractions at the event included a coconut shy, stocks where visitors could ‘Soak a Buff’, bouncy castles, a tin can alley, vintage vehicles, hook a duck and a barbecue.
