A Rushden woman has celebrated her 101st birthday.
When Mary Derby was born in 1911 George V was the King of England and the first household Census was recorded across the UK.
The pensioner, who has also previously lived in Wellingborough, celebrated turning 101 yesterday by holding a couple of events with friends.
She enjoyed attending a tea party with friends and neighbours on her special day yesterday.
The party was held at her home in Imperial Court, in Duck Street, Rushden.
She also went out for a celebratory meal with friends on Friday.
And her birthday weekend was made all the more special by a visit from one of her oldest friends, Betty Watson, who lives in London.
