District nurses at a Corby health centre have received a donation of blood pressure monitors.

Corby Masonic Centre delivered eight digital machines to Willowbrook Health Centre following a donation of nearly £400 from the organisation’s Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire Province’s charity.

Tom Hemsley, from the group, said: “One of the masons is being cared for by the district nurses. Every two days one comes by and visits him. In the course of conversation he found out blood pressure monitors would make their jobs easier.

“The Province last year gave approximately £50,000 to local charities both masonic and non-masonic.”

The group also recently presented Lakelands Hospice with a cheque for £1,000.
