Drivers are being urged to drive safely and avoid rubber-necking following four crashes on the M1 today.
At 6.30am today (Tuesday) a lorry overturned between Junction 15a and Junction 16 northbound. There were no serious injuries.
Then at 7.20am there was a collision involving a car and a lorry, at the same location, but no serious injuries.
At 8.30am a further six-vehicle collision happened, again at the same location but there were no serious injuries.
The fourth accident took place at 10am at Junction 19 southbound, involving three vehicles. Two people suffered injuries.
A police spokesman said: “Whilst there are no road closures, there are tailbacks and motorists are being advised to drive safely, give themselves extra time and avoid slowing down to observe the scene of the collision.”
