A football club in Corby has been given a grant to help it develop girls’ football.

Corby Gems FC has been awarded a £5,000 Grow the Game grant by the Football Foundation, the country’s largest sports charity.

It will allow the club to start new teams for younger age groups, help new coaches gain their coaching qualifications and provide new facilities.

Grow the Game has awarded grants worth about £4.2m to grassroots clubs.
