It was not so much a white Christmas for people in the north of the county as a wet one.
And although Christmas Day has seen less rain than in previous days, a number of flood warnings remain in place across the region.
Many of the warnings cover the River Nene, including at various sections at and near Oundle, Thrapston and Wellingborough.
They include areas between Elton and Wansford including Elton, Yarwell and Wansford and areas from Thorpe Waterville to Eaglethorpe including Thorpe Waterville, Wadenhoe, Oundle, Cotterstock and Tansor.
A flood warning is used when the Environment Agency believes flooding is expected and immediate action is required.
A number of flood alerts, which advise that flooding is possible, also remain in force.
Some rain is forecast for Christmas Day afternoon, with heavier rain expected at times on Boxing Day.
