Five arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Wellingborough

Five people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Wellingborough.

A 28-year-old Wellingborough man is in a critical but stable condition in hospital following the attack in the town during the early hours of Saturday morning (November 9).

A police spokesman said: “The man sustained a serious head injury after being attacked in the Albert Road and Grant Road area of Wellingborough, at some time between 3am and 5am.

“He was taken to the University of Coventry Hospital and is stable after surgery.

“Four men aged 18, 19, 21 and 26 and a 16-year-old boy, all from Wellingborough, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have been released from custody, pending further enquiries.”

Wellingborough detectives would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or who noticed any suspicious activity in Albert Road, Grant Road or the surrounding area during the early hours of Saturday.
