A super-fit group from Kettering are taking on a unique challenge to carry out 10,000 pull-ups at the Newlands Shopping Centre next Saturday, March 22.
The Compound Team, which is based at the William Knibb Centre in Kettering, are raising money for Sports Relief.
The group specialises in calisthenics – exercising without using apparatus or equipment – and will be displaying their pulling power to shoppers.
Additionally, throughout the day, The Newlands Shopping Centre will be holding other challenges to raise funds for Sports Relief and shoppers will not only get the opportunity to donate money or sponsor activities, they can also take part in the challenges too.
Neil Griffin, manager of the Newlands Centre, said: “We want to make sure that we raise as much money as possible for Sports Relief and we are confident that the fit men and women from The Compound Team will help us do this.
“In the past, we have found that our shoppers have dug deep into their pockets and have always amazed up at how generous they can do and we hope that, once again, this activity will prove an income earner.”
Although they will be collecting donations on the day, people can sponsor The Compound online by visiting my.sportrelief.com/sponsor/the-compound.
