A new £30,000 First Class lounge has been opened at Kettering railway station by operator East Midlands Trains.

The lounge, which will be open from 5.45am to 6.30pm every weekday, will offer complimentary drinks and snacks to First Class passengers.

WiFi is also now available for free throughout the station.

The new-look lounge – featuring new carpets, furniture and wall art – has been designed in response to passenger feedback.

Andy Moore, head of stations for East Midlands Trains, said: “Over the last year, we’ve invested more than £1.5 million into the things we know will make a difference to customers using our stations.

“The new First Class Lounge at Kettering, coupled with the new look First Lounges at a number of our other stations will offer improved facilities and a more relaxing environment for our customers.”
