Firefighters had to release a person from a car after they were involved in a collision with another vehicle and ended up crashing through a garden fence.

Crews from Corby and a Technical Rescue Vehicle from Mereway attended the collision on Danesholme Road, near to the junction with Gainsborough Road, Corby, at around 9.15pm last night (Saturday April 13).

Two cars collided on the road and one car left the road and went through a garden fence. On arrival firefighters had to remove a number of fence panels from the casualty’s car to allow the paramedics access.

Once the paramedic assessed the person in the vehicle, firefighters used a number of cutting tools to release them.

The person was released just after 10.20pm and upon release was taken to hospital by ambulance to receive treatment.
