Firefighters who controlled a blaze involving 100 bales of straw in a Northamptonshire village last night will continue to inspect the scene throughout the day.
Fire crews were called at 8.40pm on Tuesday to Grafton Road in Geddington, and returned from the scene shortly before 11am this morning.
A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire crews will continue to inspect the site today.”
Speaking late on Tuesday night, another spokesman from the service said that two fire crews, one from Corby and one from Kettering, attended the scene.
“On arrival the crews found approximately 100 bales of straw well alight,” he said.
“Crews are currently allowing the straw to burn under supervision whilst using hose reels and ground monitors to protect the surrounding area.”
